There are three distinct product categories in the market: OEM (Original Manufacturer) Lamps, Genuine Original Lamps and Compatible Lamps (also known as Copy or Counterfeit Lamps).
These are products supplied by the original manufacturer of the projector and will be exactly the same as the lamp in the projector unit when it was first shipped. They are made to a high standard and Hotlamps sells original lamps for all the major projector manufacturers.
An increasing number of brands are now sharing projector production costs (or sub-contracting their production entirely) and lamps are no different. On occasion, one centrally manufactured lamp may be re-branded to fit 6 or more different brands / models of projector. Using our lamp selection tool above will ensure you choose the right lamp for the right projector.
A number of years ago, the original lamp (bulb) manufacturers took a decision to carefully select 2 or 3 companies globally that were capable of mass-producing original quality modules containing the original lamp (bulb) inside. This ensured that performance was not affected and was put in place to both improve the supply chain in the market and to counteract the threat of cheaper copy products.
Similar to Kingston memory for your PC or ScanDisk memory cards for your digital camera - they are a Genuine Original high quality replacement option which is not compromised on quality and at the same time will work flawlessly in your machine. Due to a much shorter route to market, these lamps are usually 25% to 35% more cost effective than the OEM product, yet the high quality levels are maintained.
Our GO Lamps range is endorsed by the world's leading lamp (bulb) manufacturers Philips, OSRAM, Ushio and Phoenix. The range is put through strict quality checks which include: Beam Performance, Ignition, Voltage, Appearance, Connections, and Runtime. All lamps are manufactured to ISO14001 standards. Each Genuine Original Lamp is bespoke designed to ensure great performance levels and not to infringe on any IP or copyrights.
We offer an amazing 2 years warranty against lamp failure across the GO Lamps Range. For more information about our GO Lamps range, visit www.go-lamps.com
Compatible/Copy lamps are often supplied in brown boxes with no branding or manufacturer markings. This lack of branding can often mean a non-regulated company has produced the goods and the chances are that Intellectual Property (IP) has been infringed.
Do not expect to see warranties, nor can the quality of the products be guaranteed. Often the products are not manufactured to high standards, they perform poorly and risks can be associated with them. Hotlamps does not endorse the sale of these products.
